After seven years (not exaggerating) of radio silence, I've finally updated Chapter of the Bird with a new episode, "Wall of Deceptions".
The two episodes following it have already been written, so updates should come fairly quickly for at least until I get up to that version.
...LOL, I feel like this is a very underwhelming announcement post for something that's actually very significant for me, but it's like 5am and I really, really ought to go to sleep X_X

It's been a long, loooooooong time since I last updated Princess Tutu: Chapter of the Bird
. It's been.... *checks* ...holy mackerel, since 2006. Seven. Freaking. Years. X_X A... lot of things have happened since then, for sure. A long time went by without a lot of work on this project, but it has never left my imagination, and for some strange reason, I know that the completion of this project is an important milestone I want to reach for my writing.
But right now, what I want to think about is a certain fact: I have a bunch of chapters of the fanfic now drafted, and some/many revisions away from being finished and ready to show people. As of now, I've drafted up to the 6th chapter/"episode" (for the record, I currently have 3 episodes published on FFnet). After they're edited, I have a choice of 1) continuing writing the future episodes without posting anything new, or 2) begin to post new episodes as I continue to write.
I have outlined in detail most of the story, scene by scene up until the last few episodes where I still have some things to figure out. The reason I'm considering holding off on updating is for the very fact that it *has* been so long since I last updated it; I was thinking that I'd have most, if not all, of the story written before I start updating again so that I can *guarantee* that I'll have new chapters after some specified amount of time, because they're *already written*! XD;; Buuuuut I don't know if that's the right course of action, because I in all honesty probably could use some feedback while I'm still in the process of writing, and it might help me write future chapters faster/better, and I suppose there's also the simple reason of: people want to actually *read* more of it, finally!! (If they still remember it after all this time.... 9_9 )
Sooooooo... there you have this poll. Just cuz, I guess. ^^;; (Oh, and it's implied in the poll, but according to my outline, there will be a total of 13 episodes for the entire fanfic)
When should I begin updating Chapter of the Bird again?
When it's completely finished (once 13th final ch is written & edited)
When you have it 3/4 finished (10/13 ch's written & edited)
When you have it 3/5 finished (8/13 ch's written & edited)
When you have it 1/2 finished (6/13 chapters written & edited)
ASAP (as soon as possible)! 8D
So, you might be aware that I do voice acting for fandubs and original projects and such. Well, I also do my own productions, even if I'm not that prolific. I've been working on a comicdub by gathering voice actors, mixing SFX, creating slideshows of the images, and even asking a friend to compose original music for it.
After working on it for a couple years now, I finally have the video of Chapter 1 of No Rest for the Wicked ready for the public to view!
It is based off a webcomic by kurozukin_a
and this project was done with her permission.
Staff credits and resources are at the end of the video. If you are curious as to the production's overall progress, here's the link to the production blog: http://voiceactingalliance.com/board/entry.php?1061
If you're not familiar with the webcomic:
No Rest for the Wicked is an online fantasy manga about a princess named November who, ever since the moon disappeared, has been unable to sleep. She is prompted to go on a journey to find the missing moon to finally rest peacefully, and on the way meets a plethora of characters from the fairy tales of old, including Perrault familiar as the "Puss in Boots", and a dark, mysterious young woman known only as Red faintly recognizable as the traumatized girl from "Little Red Riding Hood". The story and art has a old-fashioned baroque feel, and yet has a uniquely modern tone as well as its own light, humorous moments.

So, instead of doing my 500 today, I started prepping for NaNoWriMo by writing out an outline (though it reads like a rambling synopsis) for a story I BS'ed (that is a double meaning acronym lololol) by a music playlist fiddling session whe
re I picked out several dozen music tracks I liked and group them together in terms of vague characters or scenes that they inspire me to think of, and make a story from it.
Not that I think it's the best thing ever, but I wanted to try to write something that would come to me easily (i.e. spins out of my head like a dream, rationality relatively optional XD;; ).
But anyway, for the curious, here's the current version of the synopsis for the tentatively titled YA/Youth novella "The Prince of Darkness":
"Kenneth, a quiet young boy troubled by the friendless life he lives, wakes up in a fantastic world out of his imagination, alongside a young witch named Cynthia. The beautiful world is plagued by fiends called Odiums, led by the enigmatic Prince of Darkness. Who is the Prince of Darkness, and why was Kenneth brought to this world?"
I am painfully aware that once Nano starts and until I finish the 50,000, I'll likely make little to no progress on Chapter of the Bird. The only thing that could mitigate it is if I finished the 50,000...ahead of schedule. Before the 30 days are up. O_O I wonder, can I really do that? Doing it within 30 days was hard enough the past two years...but since I'm managing 500 words on a semi-regular basis, could I step it up to write even faster for something I'm not so concerned about making it presentable? =|a

Or just for random fun. This is actually an old meme I posted a while ago, but I felt like doing it again. =P It's for a different ep/series than last time though!
1. Choose an episode of anime or television series you have on your computer. Make sure you're certain you want that one, you cannot change or mind once you skips this step. DO NOT TELL YOUR FLIST WHAT YOU CHOSE.
2. Make note of how long the episode is here → 23:26
3. Ask your flist to choose a time between 00:00 and whatever the length of your episode is. Be specific (ie: 19:11, 21:09, 02:42).
4. Make them an icon using THAT FRAME ONLY no matter what it is. And remember, you can only use that ONE episode you chose previous, even if the person posting isn't familiar with it.
And like last time, it's actually a DVD ep and not one I've downloaded, but eh who cares, that means I'm legit, right? =P
